1. What are the eligibility criteria for an EP?
Applicants must meet minimum salary thresholds, possess relevant qualifications, and pass the points-based COMPASS (Complementarity Assessment Framework).
2. What are the documents required for the EP application?
The 3 standard documents along with the EP application form that are required to be submitted to MOM are:

Company's latest business profile registered with ACRA
Copy of your educational certificates
3. How long does an EP application take?
Most EP applications are processed within 3 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity and additional document requests from the MOM.
4. Can an EP be renewed?
Yes, EPs are renewable if the applicant and employer continue to meet prevailing eligibility criteria.
5. When should I renew an Employment Pass?
Renewal can be submitted up to 6 months before expiry to ensure continuity of employment.

1. What are the eligibility criteria for a DP?
You may apply for a DP for your legally married spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old (including legally adopted children), if the following requirements are met:
- You hold an EP or S-Pass
- You earn a minimum fixed monthly salary of S$6,000; and
- You are sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company (i.e. your employer).
2. When should I apply for my DP?
Generally, it is recommended to apply for the DP after the main pass (i.e. EP or S-Pass) is approved. This is because if the main pass application is rejected, the DP application will likewise be rejected.
3. Can DP holders work in Singapore?
DP holders would require a valid work pass (i.e. EP or S-Pass) to work in Singapore. However, DP holders that would like to operate a business in Singapore may apply for a Letter of Consent (see more details in the Letter of Consent FAQ section).
4. Can a DP be renewed?
Yes, it is renewable and typically aligned with the validity of the main work pass.

1. Can a DP holder start and operate a business in Singapore?
Yes. DP holders may start and operate a business in Singapore as long as they have a valid Letter of Consent (LOC) from the MOM. To apply for the LOC, the DP holder must be either:
The sole proprietor of the business; or
The partner of the business; or
The company director with at least 30% shareholding in the business.
2. What are the criteria for renewing the LOC?
When renewing the LOC, you will need to hire at least 1 Singaporean/ Permanent Resident, who earns at least the prevailing local qualifying salary and receives CPF contributions for at least 3 months.

1. What is the S-Pass and who is it for?
The S-Pass is available to foreign employees earning a monthly salary of at least S$3,300. The S-Pass is limited by a quota and a monthly levy must be paid for S-Pass holders by the employer.
2. Can the S-Pass holder apply for DP for family members?
S-Pass holders who have a fixed monthly salary of at least S$6,000 are eligible to apply for DPs for their spouse and children.
